Health care reform that preserves the ability of our members to continue to provide affordable health insurance to their employees is one of Idealliance's core public policy focus areas. Following a failed launch, the administration and Republican majority in the House has moved a bill to the Senate continuing the legislative process.
Passage in the Senate will be significantly more challenging. In order to obtain Senate approval significant changes to provisions will need to be made. Bottom line, this bill has a long way to go before it has a chance to become law.
A key part of the process will be the CBO analysis and "scoring" of the bill. This will be fast-tracked and is now anticipated to be completed the week of May 22. Of course, Congressional schedules are always subject to change.

I am attaching a summary of the bill that passed the House for your review and consideration. Again, we can definitely expect substantial changes as the Senate moves through its consideration.
