  • 1.  Creaser Folder Combo?

    Hello,

    I was not able to make it to Graph Expo.  I currently have a Morgana 33 creaser then put things on a folder.

    What was the best combo out there and approx pricing.  Thank you in advance and can email me directly.

    We have a Morganna Digifold Pro and it is fabulous. Creases and folds in one pass, we fold UV coated and laminated stuff, no problem, even remittance envelopes with some trickery.

    I'll second Tim's endorsement - we installed a Morgana Digifold a couple of months ago and our team loves it. Upgraded from a stand alone creaser and this has made a world of difference for our finishing department.

    Remits are shorter than the minimum size the machine allows but there are settings that can be changed that allow you to shorten the time the feed wheel applies suction. Ask you service person for the procedure to access the menu, then take a picture of the original settings to be able to go back to them. Shorten the vacuum pulse so they don't feed too close together. Set your first roller to the flap thickness (trailing edge) and the remaining rollers to three thicknesses(not two as the machine suggests). A lot depends on the quality and consistency of the envelopes and some will get wrinkles because of trapped air, but the speed of production will greatly outweigh the waste.

    We have an older Morgana and just added the Morgana DigiFold Pro.  The Pro operates at 6000 8.5x11's per hour where our old one was 1500 sheets per hour. We tested it the other day it does run at that speed providing you do not stop production.  It creases and folds in one pass and it does a great job on everything except weights of less than 100# coated text. The feed system does not close tight enough. We can get it to work but it can be problematic. That said I do recommend the machine.

    Hi Shawn,

    We too have the Morgana Digi-fold and have been very impressed with it's "letterpress like" score.

    However I must mention that we have since added an Aerocut G2 that we finish business cards, tickets and post cards on.  This has been the single greatest positive impact ever to freeing up cutting time in our bindery operation.  Be certain to investigate imposition software by Lytrod.  It is a must if you want to make it easy for your associates to maximize use of the Aerocut.
