We have a Canon C800 and Put rite around 100,000 clicks per month on it. Mostly 12 x 18 with some 13 x 19 sprinkled in, with a good Mix of Coated and un-coated substrates. I really don't have any complaints other than registration, and even that is just nit picking. As long as we align trays once a month it's not much of a problem.
From my experience, most of these machines can do the Job very well, with each Brand having it's own Plus and Minuses. The most important aspect being your service tech. The Machine is only as good as it's Tech. I would suggest meeting the Tech before signing on the dotted line. Grill him a bit about your needs and expectations and you should get a good Idea about his personality, commitment to his craft and it will help build a relationship.
A hard black and white answer, I'd go with the Ricoh over the Xerox

Speed is one factor as media weight increases. Is there a need for oversize or wrap around covers. I have compared both as well as the Konica c2070.

I'm thinking of getting a new Xerox Versant 80 or a Ricoh 5200? What do you recommend?
