  • 1.  Comparing Printers

Hi Nicholas, I have a free easy way for you to check this out. First, you need to print some type of target on all 35 devices, we have a simple fast target that i recommend, I will forward you a link, it is built to be measured with an i1 Pro, but can be used with almost any device. The first 5 patches in the two rows are the G7 CMY patches lined up with their K only counterparts, so visually you can see with your eyes if your device looks to be G7 conforming. It can also be used to iterate your G7 curves like a P2P but with 80% few patches. You can use almost any software to measure this data. Then go to www.chromachecker.com and register (free), then go into Print Inspector, make a track, and you will be able to upload all 35+ measurements to this track. Once this is done, the software will show you how close each printer is to GRACoL or whichever print aim you want to asses to (The lowest number wins, that is the printer most accurate to your Printing aim). To compare them to each other, all you need to do is choose any printer to be the "baseline" printer (ideally the one with the lowest EF number), and the software will then compare the other 34 printers to your defined baseline printer. This will give you exactly what you are asking for. You can do this with as many output devices as you want.

If you have any questions, please call, we are practically neighbors,

    Thanks
