Hi. I am currently using printers plan and I would like to explore other option. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Nechamie,

I myself used Printers Plan for over a decade at my digital printing firm, Full Court Press. It's a great platform for smaller shops, but I suspect that you may have outgrown its capabilities. As you probably know, there are a mind boggling myriad of choices in MIS systems. I'd be happy to speak with you off-line to learn more about what you're hoping to accomplish and perhaps, we can steer you in the right direction.

We wen through this last year and the choices and price points will kill over a week of doing research.  We landed on Midnight virtual systems product. We have been very pleased with the software, training as well as the ongoing support. We have had issues like any change over and they have been very quick to respond. We have also discovered issues that relate specifically to our use and they have worked to come up with solutions. They seem to be very responsive to the users in the updates. We are a mailing and digital print shop. One of the main reasons for us to select this software was it seemed to be the only one that handled both situations well.

Doug is right about the the choices and price points.

It will help the group to have a bit of info to guide you to an MIS system that meets your core requirements and avoid you having to research a longer list of systems that just won’t work for you.

    • How big is the company today in terms of employee headcount?

Some MIS systems are just better suited for small to midsize and some for larger companies

    • Assuming the basics of quoting, estimating, job tracking, etc. Do you also need:
      • Local installed or cloud based system or one you can flip between both?
      • Integrated storefronts so clients can check job status and place orders online?
      • Integration to existing storefronts?
      • Automated impositioning and ganging?
      • Integrated proofing process?
      • Invoicing?
      • Integration to UPS and FedEX?
      • Integrated CASS&PAVE Certified bulk mailing?
      • Integration to QuickBooks or another accounting system?
