  • 1.  Import data validation tool.

    Just wondering if anyone has found an off the shelf product that will help facilitate a customer to upload a data file (excel) via a web form – then most importantly process a data validation on the contents.

    The main goal is to count the characters in a particular column – while referencing the SKU requested in the row. Basically each row represents a different Print on Demand item and the dynamic content is in a cell and to keep the design consistent the client prefers to limit the characters rather than auto sizing the content.

    Any thoughts or suggestions before we reinvent the wheel with a custom program script?

    Hi Glen,

    There options out there. We use web forms that connect to our CRM (salesforce.com) then you can use a tool such as AccuZIP's CASS API to Validate and Correct the data at point of entry. Hope this helps

    It does sound like a custom script would be needed. If you use BCC software I think you could make use of the TaskMaster module to automate this process for you. The customer is not entering the data 1 record at a time, but via upload from the sounds of it. If that is the case, you could program the data to go to a folder and have taskmaster run the script from there. If they are entering one at a time then the AccuZip's API may be the answer.
