I'm not finding to much of a color differential between the two machines on average. Some days certain colors come out better on one or the other, but it does have the ability to map colors for better matching between machines. The Xante's best feature, I think, is being able to bleed off of 3 edges. It also takes sizes that the 800 will not take because of size or type (just ran some self sealing envelopes with exposed adhesive (was not about to put through the 800).
Over the last 3 years I've leaned on the Xante for some large envelope orders and gotten them out in a decent amount of time (if I had to figure low/high per month I'd have to go as few as 300 to 5000). Supplies seem to last forever...in 3 years I'm on my 3rd or 4th set of toners; changed drums twice (with a 3rd coming very soon); replaced the transfer belt and fuser once; and waste toner bottle 3 times.

If you don't mind, would you please share your experience with the quality difference/comparison between the Canon 800 and the Xante? We have the canon's in our production shop and the print quality is exceptional, but the throughput is marginal, very marginal. We are looking at an Xante, but are concerned with being able to replicate the print quality of the Canon and wonder how durability the machine is and if it truly can live up to its rated duty cycle output?. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you very much.

We setup our envelopes that have varying messages through a spreadsheet and InDesign, then we print either on our canon 800 or we also have a Xante envelope printer.

We have offset for printed envelopes and inkjet for mailings.
Seeing a need for color imprint messages on envelopes, especially for non-profits.
Suggestions?
