  • 1.  Instrument to check G7 assessment

    Dear G7 Community
I would like to know if there are some instrument, manual, automatic, inline etc that are able to measure a colorbar and evaluate it in assessment to G7 Grayscale or Targeted requirement.
I'm looking some manual, instrument and some console onto the press machine but I cannot find a fully compliancy to the G7 reference.

How it's possible to check it into the offset sheetfeed production?

We use Presssign software. One swipe at your custom color bar and you get feedback on everything all at once

I would also recommend pressSIGN by Bodoni, http://www.presssign.com/
    It's worth getting training too.

Monitoring G7 Grayscale after G7 calibration can be done very easily and quickly with a standard handheld spectrophotometer on setup and during the print run. If there is a problem, grayscale can sometimes be adjusted on press and that will bring you into compliance.  If the grayscale is off, then troubleshooting can be done with the same instrument.
    1. Check the solids. If they are good
    2. Check the for standard TVI from the G7 Calibration.  If the solids and TVI checkout.
    3. Check the substrate.  If that doesn't solve the problem.
    4. You need to analyze the print with software and more than likely, you will need to recalibrate.
You can monitor all of this very quickly with a handheld spectrophotometer. Analytics require G7 Software.
