  • 1.  Synthetic Paper Option other than Nekoosa Synaps?

    Posted 04-23-2019 04:07 PM
We are having issues with the Synaps 14mil paper again fraying.  The manufacturer is working with us, but wondering what other people are using and where do you get it.

We use Mohawk Synthetic  Performance Polyester from Lindenmeyr. I have found that on my production press the high temp does occasionally create an issue while duplexing, however on my light production machine it goes through with little to no issue. It does hold a lot of static, but fans right out in a couple passes.

Mohawk, GPA, and Spinnaker all have substantial synthetic lines.

You may want to talk to a sales person, there are many varieties of synthetics and I’ve often found that perhaps shifting from a PE to a PP can meet my needs.

You may also want to work with your press manufacturer, they may have experience as well.

Kernow media out of Canada may be a better option.

We have used PolyArt with good results.
