Dear Jeremy Reed,
I follow CRPC6 or 5 LAB values for the flexo. In flexo the printers has the flexibility to match cmyk lab values as per target lab values. I check in both direct and relative to paper. Whichever is achieving we can take as target values. simultaneously cross check tvi as process control parameters to understand any abnormality. if the TVI seems very higher than i move from CRPC6 to CRPC5 so the ink densities can be reduced. If still high move to CRPC4 ( especially when we print on opaque white. Also pay attention to visual appearance. The print may have issues related to ink adhesion and have pin holes or mottle which affects the ink adhesion and reading. I am successful in doing this. I also set up Proofer to CRPC6 or 5 and colors come closer. Plus minus i ask printer to manage and match in press. Life is simple here.

Subject: LAB Target values for KCMY for Flexo
Hi Jeremy,
the first edition of ISO-12647-6 used the values shown in the screenshot. They disappeared in later versions.
