Acrobat Simulation Profile not correct

    Hello,
Im having trouble setting up my Adobe color settings.  Ive loaded the correct GRACol 2013 CSF files and synchronized everything with Bridge.  InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator all are correctly synchronized.  Now if I open a PDF in Acrobat, the simulation profile shows RGB and the GRACol 2013 profile isn't even in the dropdown to be selected.

    Is this a known issue?
    Can it be fixed?

    Im using Acrobat V 2020.006

    Thanks in advance

Check your Preferences in Acrobat in Color Management. And make sure the profiles are mapped correctly on your Mac/PC.

    • In Windows, right-click a profile and select Install Profile. Alternatively, copy the profiles into the WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color folder.
    • In Mac OS, copy profiles into the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder or the /Users/[username]/Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder.

After installing color profiles, be sure to restart Adobe applications.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks Thom,
I installed the CSF files in the folder Bridge looks for.
    /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Settings
They don't show up in Acrobat.

So I tried the path you suggested above, and restarted everything Adobe.
They still don't show up in Acrobat.

The weird thing is, when I open the Acrobat preferences, it shows that my Color Management settings are Synchronized. But they aren't.
    See screenshot attached.
Then if I change the simulation profile from RGB to anything else, its UNsynchronized.

    Very strange.

Just for added data:  Mac OS 10.14.6

    It's a bug.

Open your preferences in acrobat & manually select a CMYK profile (I think you can even select the gracol profile from the dropdown list if it appears further down).

The little "Synchronized" logo will become Unsynced but that's fine. It works the same. You can even select the Photoshop 5 Default CMYK profile if you're just wanting to view in CMYK.

    Thanks Brian.
Im becoming increasingly aware that it's a bug in this version of Acrobat. I have been selecting GRACol 2006 which is close enough to our standard.  I understand our IT will be upgrading us to a higher version of Adobe CC suite next month.  Hopefully that fixes the bug.

Thanks for the replies.  (No thanks to Adobe for the bug)

Sorry to tell you that the latest version does not fix this. You still need to set it manually in your prefs after you synch via bridge.
