I Just purchased a new ISIS 2 scanner. I am able to read the P2P51. I am unabLe to read the TC1617. It just errors out on the first line every time. I think I read that other people are having this same issue? Any advice is truly appreciated.

Have you trimmed off the dotted lines around the chart.

Sometimes that can make a difference. I had the same issue.

    Thanks,

Try this chart which I created in 2019. Very minor differences. It is a true 16 bit LSB dither. I created it by writing an applescript which generated an Illustrator file as vectors directly from the CGATs file. Then the vectors were rasterized into Photoshop. Result is a mathematically accurate  chart built to the iSis data in the CGATs file. Do NOT subsample the file.

    1. Dotted lines are slightly smaller in the width.
    2. Higher resolution 160 dpcm which gives accurate element sizes down to 1/16 mm.

If the file attachment does not get through, use this link to my WeTransfer page.   https://we.tl/t-DYwuqrtWyp

    Hope it works for you.

    That's awesome Fred!

Thanks so much for sharing the file.

Hey Fred, it looks like the TC1617 you uploaded is only 8 bits, not 16. I checked the one on WeTransfer and Idealiance.

The only way I know to safely send a 16 bit file is in .zip form.

Can you re-send it as a .zip?

    Thanks,

    Don

    Hi Don,

I created it as 16 bit then converted to 8 bit with LSB dithering. Link to the original 16 bit image is below.

I have always had tremendous difficulty reading the TC1617 chart with my ISIS. I was told that you need to trim the chart a little thinner than you normally do, but I've never be able to do this reliably. Occasionally works, but most of the time it does not. (Side note: I've NEVER gotten this chart to work with Curve, only with i1Profiler.)

I was also told that they were going to re-make the chart to be more ISIS-compliant, but that was years ago (before the pandemic) and haven't seen any new version since so I guess that's not going to happen. :(

Would love to have this work; any tips/workarounds would be most appreciated!

I ended up buying the i1 iISIS2xl and have no problems.

Make sure you are using the chart that is vertical (portrait not landscape).

I still have an i1 ISIS2 and also have issues with the P2P chart when using the horizontal (landscape).

There was a previous thread where someone started trimming the dashed lines off and got there's to work.

    Thanks,
